What is GuessIt AI?

GuessIt AI is a free, browser-based word guessing game powered by artificial intelligence. Every day a new secret word is chosen for the Word of the Day challenge, and your goal is to figure out what that word is using only questions and clues — all within 10 messages. No account is required, and the game is completely free to play on any device.

How to Play

When you start a game, the AI will present you with the definition of the secret word — with the word itself removed. From there, you have up to 10 messages to guess the word. You can ask the AI questions to gather more clues, or make a direct guess at any time. If your message contains the correct word, you win instantly. The fewer messages you use, the higher your score.

Questions You Can Ask

Good questions to ask include:

• How many letters does the word have?
• What letter does the word begin with?
• What part of speech is the word?
• Where might you find this word?
• Is the word a noun, verb, or adjective?

These help you narrow down the answer quickly. Use your questions wisely to maximise your score.

Rules & Restrictions

There are a few things you cannot do:

• You cannot ask the AI to simply tell you the word
• You cannot ask the AI to use the word in a sentence
• You may only ask for a specific letter of the word once

Word of the Day

Each day at midnight Eastern Time, a new Word of the Day is revealed. The daily word is carefully selected and pre-scheduled so every player around the world is guessing the same word on the same day. Come back daily to keep your streak going and challenge your vocabulary. You can also share your results with friends once you complete the daily challenge.

Scoring

Your score is based on how few messages you use to guess the word. The faster you guess, the higher your score. If you use all 10 messages without guessing correctly, the game ends and the word is revealed. Challenge yourself to improve your score each day by asking smarter questions and making more confident guesses.
